Pockets Teaches Behavior To The Kids

Hi, my name is Pockets! My mission is to help and teach kids the good value of life. I have a lot of pockets, even on my hat. Sometimes I forget to do something, and I write them down and put them in one of my pockets. Then I will forget what pocket I put the note in. So, I add another pocket to my clothes, but in a different color so that will help me to remember that I put it in that color pocket.

Pockets and the Secret of Giving

On a warm, golden morning, Pockets walked through the lively town, humming a happy tune. His heart felt light, as it always did when he had a chance to help someone.

Near the market, he noticed an old man struggling to carry a heavy basket of fruits. The man looked tired, his hands shaking.

“Let me help you!” Pockets said happily.

The old man smiled. “Thank you, little one. But I have nothing to give you.”

Pockets shook his head. “I don’t need anything.”

He carried the basket all the way to the man’s home. The old man thanked him warmly, and Pockets smiled back and waved goodbye.

The next day, Pockets saw a little girl sitting by the road, her eyes filled with tears.

“What happened?” he asked gently.

“I lost my favorite ribbon,” she sniffled.

Without a second thought, Pockets searched everywhere – under benches, behind trees, and even inside small corners. After a while, he found the ribbon stuck on a branch.

“Here it is!” he said, handing it to her.

The girl’s face lit up like sunshine. “Thank you! What can I give you?”

Pockets smiled. “Just keep smiling. That’s enough.”

Days passed, and Pockets kept helping people – feeding a hungry cat, watering a neighbor’s plants, fixing a broken toy for a little boy. Each time, people offered him something in return.

And each time, he gently refused.

One afternoon, a few children gathered around him.

“Pockets,” one of them asked, “why don’t you take anything? You help everyone!”

Pockets sat down on the grass and thought for a moment.

“When I help someone,” he said softly, “my heart feels light and happy. That feeling is already a gift. If I start expecting something back, that feeling might disappear.”

The children listened quietly.

One evening, as the sun was setting, Pockets tripped and fell while walking home. His knee hurt, and he couldn’t stand up.

Before he could even call for help, the old man he had helped came running.

“Careful, my boy!” he said, helping Pockets up.

Soon, the little girl arrived with water, and the boy, whose toy he had fixed, brought a cloth to clean his wound.

Pockets looked around, surprised.

They all smiled at him.

“You helped us,” they said together. “Now it’s our turn.”

Pockets’ eyes sparkled – not because he expected this, but because kindness had quietly returned to him.

That night, as he lay in bed, he whispered to himself, “Do good with a clean heart, and let life take care of the rest.”

And with a peaceful smile, Pockets drifted off to sleep.
