One bright morning, Pockets was skipping through a wildflower meadow, humming his favorite tune.
“Laaa-la-laa! Oh, what fun it is to play,
In the meadow every day!”
Suddenly, from behind a daisy bush, a furry gray bunny popped out.
“Excuse me!” said the bunny, twitching his nose. “Are you the one they call Pockets?”
“Yes, sir!” said Pockets, tipping his tall, patchy hat. “How can I help?”
The bunny looked worried. “My friend, Chipper the chipmunk, lost his giggles. He can’t laugh at anything anymore—not even acorn juggling!”
Pockets gasped. “That’s serious! A giggle-less chipmunk? No time to lose!”
Together, they bounded off through the meadow and soon found Chipper sitting sadly on a rock, staring at his tail.
“I dropped my giggles somewhere near the giggle tree,” said Chipper with a sigh. “But now it’s just a regular tree…”
Pockets scratched his chin. Then he dove into his deepest pocket.
ZIP! SWISH! FLOP!
Out came… a tickle feather, a bouncy mustache mask, and a joke-telling kazoo!
Pockets put on the mustache, wiggled his eyebrows, and gave the kazoo a toot:
“Why don’t squirrels use cell phones? … Because they’re afraid of nuts and bolts!”
Chipper blinked. Then twitched. Then…
“PFFFT–HAHAHA!”
The giggles came tumbling out like a waterfall of jellybeans!
The giggle tree sparkled, and its leaves turned into little bells that jingled with every laugh.
“Thank you, Pockets!” said Chipper, bouncing in delight. “You brought my giggles home!”
The animals cheered, and Pockets did a goofy bow, nearly knocking his hat off.
And from that day on, whenever someone lost a smile, a giggle, or just needed a little magic, they knew exactly who to find:
Pockets—the boy with a heart full of wonder, and a pocket for every problem.
Moral of the Story:
Sometimes, laughter and kindness are the greatest magic of all—and sharing them can bring sunshine even on the cloudiest day.
