Hi, my name is Luella. It’s nice to finally meet you! Guess what? My name sounds like Cinderella! The only difference between me and Cinderella is that she was forced to do everybody’s chores, while I just want to have some fun. But overall, she was being bullied by her evil stepsisters—how sad! They say that there is a light at the end of the tunnel. Even Cinderella had a happy ending.
Talking about being bullied, oh yeah, that reminds me. I have to tell you a little story about a boy named Billy. Oh, it’s past my bedtime, so I’ll make it quick. I hope everyone is sitting down.
Once upon a time, there was a boy named Billy. Billy was a bully. He was very mean and shouted a lot. He always pushed people out of his way, and everyone was scared of him. He always had a mean look on his face, gave everyone a hard time, and took things from people. He never said sorry—it was always “Gimme, gimme!”
One day, Pockets was walking and accidentally bumped into Billy. It made Billy drop his school books, and that got Billy upset right away. So, Billy went up to Pockets to push him hard for making him drop his books. But, you see, Billy missed Pockets with the push and fell hard to the ground. Billy started to cry.
Pockets bent down to see if Billy was okay. Billy the Bully yelled back at Pockets, “Get away from me! I am mean and upset!”
Pockets started to laugh and said, “How can you be upset? Why are you talking to me? Don’t you know that I am a bully?”
Again, Pockets started laughing so hard that he slipped and fell to the ground. “Look, now we are both upset,” he said.
Billy started laughing too, and Pockets decided to ask, “What do you like doing for fun? Because it’s no fun being angry all the time.”
Billy the Bully agreed, “Being angry was no fun at all.”
“Let’s play tag!” Pockets suggested.
Pockets chased Billy, and Billy chased Pockets. They had so much fun!
Afterward, Pockets asked Billy, “Since we had so much fun, are you going to continue to bully others?”
Billy said, “No, and I’m very sorry that I got angry.”
Pockets smiled and said, “That’s great! I forgive you. Since you said that, I’m going to give you the nickname ‘Will.’ Every time you want to hurt others, remember your nickname is ‘Will’ because you will not hurt others again. Another reason is that Billy and Willie are short for the same name—William. Just like Bob is short for Robert, or Tony is short for Anthony.”
And I love a happy ending!
