Being Alone
Sitting down and wishing I was never alone,
Wondering if that’s right or wrong.
With no place to go,
Or a true friend to know.
What’s the sense of being nice
When they treated me wrong,
Not once, but twice?
One day, I know that the lights will shine on me.
Then I will have my chance to be
What I am aiming to be.
I don’t need anyone to depend on
But me.
I know that the love of God
Is shining right through me.
My heart said that it’s a shame;
I should just leave them alone, just the same.
So I guess,
For the best,
I should lay back and rest
And stop worrying about being alone,
But be happy because
With God, I am strong!
