Terry lived near the playground and every day he would sneak out of school and play basketball with a few guys.
They felt school was a waste of time and boring.
Just sitting in class and reading or listening to the teacher and doing tests.
Why do we need to have a test all the time?
Every day the same thing. Telling that to his friends.
Why do we need all of these books?
That’s not cool and those books are heavy.
One day,
Terry was called to the principal office at school. The principal wanted to go over Terry’s grades and attendance. To find out how he helped him do better.
First, the principal asked about his home situation and his friends.
And he asked, do your parents know that you skip classes and know about your grades?
Terry said, No!
The principal said, I see.
“would you mind if I call your parents right now and see what they say?”
Terry, why are you so not interested in learning?
I see you every morning playing basketball out there in the playground, the Principal said.
Terry’s eyes open up! With a surprised look on his face.
If put as much energy into playing ball as much as you study your schoolwork.
You can really help other students like yourself to do better.
A good basketball player like Shaq to Michael Jordan. Has to get good grades in school first to even be qualified to be on any successful team.
Terry started laughing but school is so boring.
School will also help you to improve your everyday living and to find a good paying job.
Nobody wants to hire someone who doesn’t show up for work or come to work when they want to.
