One sunny afternoon, as Pockets zoomed through Number Park on his bright pink skateboard, he spotted something strange near the sandbox: a giant green number “3” with big blinking eyes and a smile!
“Whoa! You’re a NUMBER… and you’re alive!” Pockets gasped, hopping off his board.
“I’m not just any number,” said the Number 3, winking. “I’m here for an adventure—and I’ve picked YOU!”
Before Pockets could ask more, the number twirled, glowed, and suddenly—the skateboard lifted off the ground and zoomed into the sky with Pockets on it!
They zoomed through the clouds, whooshed past talking trees, and even waved to the Moon (who did follow Pockets). Finally, they landed in a magical land called Count-a-Lot, where numbers ruled everything.
But all wasn’t well in Count-a-Lot. The numbers were upset. Some kids from the real world were forgetting how to count or skipping numbers on purpose!
“That’s terrible!” said Pockets. “But… what can I do?”
“You can help remind them that every number counts, just like every person does,” said Number 3 wisely. “Even if a number seems small or silly, it has a job to do. Just like kindness, or listening, or helping a friend.”
Pockets nodded. “Okay! Let’s fix this.”
With his trusty skateboard, Pockets zipped from number to number, playing silly math games, helping them smile again, and reminding everyone how important each number was. He even got Number 9 to stop hiding in the pumpkin patch!
Once all the numbers were laughing again, a giant rainbow loop-de-loop appeared in the sky.
“That’s your ride home,” said Number 3. “And don’t forget our message.”
Pockets zoomed through the rainbow, giggling as glitter tickled his nose, and landed safely back in Jumbleville just in time for dinner.
From that day on, Pockets told every kid he met:
“Don’t skip the little things. Every number, every person, and every kind moment counts!”
And sometimes, just sometimes, when he rode his skateboard through Number Park, he swore he heard a giggle… and saw a green “3” wink at him from behind a tree.
Moral of the Story:
Every small thing matters—whether it’s a number, a person, or a kind action. Never skip over what seems little, because it might be the most important of all.
