Pockets Teaches Behavior To The Kids

Hi, my name is Pockets! My mission is to help and teach kids the good value of life. I have a lot of pockets, even on my hat. Sometimes I forget to do something, and I write them down and put them in one of my pockets. Then I will forget what pocket I put the note in. So, I add another pocket to my clothes, but in a different color so that will help me to remember that I put it in that color pocket.

Pockets and the Broken Glass

One quiet afternoon, little Pockets was sitting at the kitchen table, drawing with his favorite crayons. His mom had given him a special glass cup for his juice, shiny and smooth, that made him feel grown-up.

But, oh no! As Pockets reached for his cup, it slipped from his hands and fell to the floor. Crash! The cup broke into tiny pieces.

Pockets felt his heart twist. He wanted to say sorry to the cup, to fix it, to make it whole again.

“I’m sorry!” he whispered, looking at the shattered glass. But the cup didn’t move. It didn’t smile or say it forgave him. It was just broken.

He sat quietly, tears forming in his eyes. The kitchen felt so big and empty without the cup sitting safely on the table. Pockets’ mom came over and knelt beside him. She smiled softly, putting a hand on his shoulder.

“Pockets,” she said, “sometimes saying sorry is very important. It shows we care. But sorry alone cannot fix everything. Some things, like glass cups or feelings, need time, care, and sometimes a little patience to heal.”

Pockets thought about that. He remembered how he had accidentally hurt his friend’s feelings last week and had said sorry. His friend had smiled, but it had taken a few days before they played happily together again.

Pockets nodded. “I understand,” he said. He carefully picked up the bigger pieces of the glass with his mom, and together they put them in the recycling bin. Then Pockets hugged his mom tightly.

That evening, Pockets drew a picture of the cup, whole and shining just like before. He wrote, “I’m sorry, and I will be more careful next time.” Even though the cup was gone, Pockets felt a little lighter.

He learned something important that day: saying sorry is the first step, but real care and love help mend what’s broken, sometimes faster, sometimes slower, but always with hope.

Words alone cannot fix everything that is broken. Love, care, and patience are needed to heal hearts and mistakes truly.
