Once upon a time, in a small village nestled in a lush green valley, there lived a boy named Pockets. Pockets was a kind and respectful boy. He always listened to his parents and teachers and never talked back or said mean things to others. His parents were proud of him and often praised him for his good behavior.
One day, Pockets noticed a new student in his class. His name was Tony and he was different from everyone else. Tony wore a hearing aid and sometimes struggled to hear what the teacher was saying. Pockets noticed that some of the other kids in the class would make fun of Tony behind his back and call him names like “deaf boy” and “weirdo”.
Pockets didn’t like the way the other kids were treating Tony. He knew that it was disrespectful and hurtful. He decided to befriend Tony and make him feel welcome in their class.
Pockets spent time with Tony during recess and helped him with his schoolwork. He also stood up for Tony when the other kids made fun of him. Pockets knew that it wasn’t easy for Tony to be different, but he believed that everyone deserved respect and kindness.
One day, during a class project, Pockets and Tony were paired up to work together. They had to write a song about respecting others and being kind. Tony was a talented songwriter and together, they came up with a beautiful song that talked about the importance of respecting others, no matter how different they may be.
When they performed the song in front of the class, everyone was impressed. The other kids realized that they had been disrespectful to Tony and apologized to him. They also thanked Pockets for showing them how to be kind and respectful.
Pockets felt proud of himself for standing up for Tony and for teaching his classmates about the importance of respecting others. He learned that being respectful was not only the right thing to do, but it also made him feel good about himself.
